Oak Park Prius drivers take advantage of the market’s most fuel efficient vehicle
With the green movement traveling full speed ahead in the auto industry, the most fuel efficient cars are getting the most exposure as 2010 closes out and leads into 2011. And 2011 is going to be a hot year for the auto market. With Chevy and Nissan releasing the nation’s first electric vehicles, Oak Park Camry owners may feel compelled to see what the brands have to offer.
Still, there are always mainstays and pioneers in such a crucial industry, and Toyota remains on top and is still the proven leader in fuel efficient engine technology. Ever since the launch of the Prius, the rest of the industry has been struggling to keep up. Some brands have been more successful than others, but no one has matched the Prius’ high fuel economy rating. It isn’t an easy thing to accomplish, but the electric vehicles about to hit the market will give us a better idea of how tangible the Prius’ crown really is. For Oak Park Prius dealers, the likelihood is slim that anyone will be able to compete directly with the Prius.
And just to add a little fuel to the fire, the EPA recently came out with the 2011 numbers, and the Prius reigns as the most fuel efficient car on the US market, logging 51 miles per gallon in city driving and a cool 48 miles per gallon on the highway. Oak Park Prius dealers were very excited to hear the news that they still sell the champion of the fuel efficiency market, and they hope that the electric vehicles coming out are successful – but not too successful. If I know anything about Toyota, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing an all-electric car out of the manufacturer in the coming years. In fact, it’s interesting that there hasn’t been much buzz about the possibility yet. It could be that Toyota has little faith in the cars slotted to come out in the next few years. Maybe the brand knows something that we don’t. Whatever is going on, I have a lot of confidence in the new movement towards electric cars. It’s going to be a doozy of a 2011, and I’m simply waiting to see what Oak Park Camry dealers have in mind for keeping business consistent.
According to an article in Inside Line, a popular automotive internet trade, the results were much as Oak Park Prius dealers expected them to be. “As expected, some of the hottest vehicles on the market made the ‘lowest fuel economy’ list. They include the 2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG, which delivers 11 mpg in city driving and 13 mpg on the highway. The 2011 Bentley Continental GTC also made the ‘lowest’ list, along with the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. All of those vehicles deliver 11 mpg in city driving and 18 mpg on the highway.” Oak Park Camry locations are expected to profit huge off of this sort of brand new hierarchy.
